It is certainly flavour of the month to buy a chalet and start running
'chalet holidays' as seen on TV
However, this is no life-style change for us. This has been our life for over
24 years and we have a wealth of experience to call upon
- We're one of Chamonix's longest running chalet operators having met in
1984 on our 'gap' year and then opening our first modest chalet the following winter
- We're a fully registered French/Anglo 'Siret' business and La Forge is
registered as a para-hotel fully compliant with local fire regs. We work closely with the owners of our other
chalets ensuring that the standards of all our properties is consistently
excellent.
- We are a fully registered and insured transport company, Tim holding the
International CPC licence. We have a small fleet of luxury 8 seater
minibuses allowing us to transport our guests to and from the airport and
around the vicinity in safety and comfort.
- We live in the valley full time and are part of the community. We offer our personal involvement, from your initial telephone enquiry
down to the smallest details in the chalet working with you and our team in the run up to
your holiday to ensure that all you need is booked in advance so you can
relax on your arrival.
- Extra services at no extra charge! We'll deliver your booked ski
equipment and passes direct to your door, your shopping, make you a birthday
cake, a picnic or book you a local masseur or even a helicopter!
- Over 24 years in the business has allowed us to hone our holidays and we
work with the best local services available, from superbly patient
instructors to dynamic Mountain guides we know the 'right man' for the job!
- Having worked in the chalets first hand for many years (Tim hosting and
Gaby cooking) our new staff are
trained pre-season to deliver the best holiday and our interest in local
food means our chefs offer fantastic cuisine on a par with any of Chamonix's
good hotels and popular restaurants.
- Our chalets are gorgeous... and our guests are always telling us how
much better they look than the photo's on the web site.
- We want to offer environmentally conscious holiday options. Our new
property Eco farm has been re-built on a 'green' basis with geothermic
heating and a rain water capture system. We can offer organic catering to
groups (been offering this for years, it's not some new fad for us!) and we
have instructed our cooks to when available to only buy free range eggs for our catering.
It's the little things.
