A rare find in the Alps, this superbly restored farmhouse which dates from 1781 offers the discerning skier a wonderful homely mountain lodge whilst offering an impressive array of eco credentials to satisfy even the most environmentally conscious amongst us! Over the last four years Eco farm has been totally re-built using the original panelling, locally sourced oak and beautiful Italian limestone whilst some of the furniture, the doors and window frames have all been handmade using reclaimed wood. Located in the village of Les Houches, within a couples of minutes walk to the ski lifts, you are right in the heart of the ‘Pays du Mont Blanc’ with ski in/out possibilities and easy access to all the delights of the Chamonix valley and satellite ski resorts of Courmayeur and Megeve.
From the outset we wanted to create a mountain lodge that expressed the quality and elegance of the original building yet offered something different. Originally the home of the Mayors family, Eco farm (then known as Farm des Vacances!) is featured in several historical Chamonix books and so we didn’t want to alter the interior so we retained and exposed all the roof purlins and rafters and put in huge velux windows to let the daylight flood in. The original wooden panelling has been re used and adorns the walls and we’ve installed under-floor geothermic heating throughout overlaid with solid oak flooring, lovely to walk on in bare feet! The main living and kitchen area is all open-plan offering a wonderful large space to enjoy and admire the views of the valley from the massive picture windows and balcony. All five bedrooms are en- suite and the furnishings are uber chic with a retro rustic theme.
More Information Our fabulous 6 meter long swim spa offers a separate Jacuzzi at one end and whilst in the main tub one person is able to swim against the current generated by the 71 jets. Enjoy an evening of well-being and combine these facilities with a delicious aromatherapy massage or session with a personal trainer who will come to the chalet. Our excellent concierge service ensures that pre-booked ski passes and equipment are delivered direct to the chalet. We include a cleaning maid on alternate days of your holiday, can shop in advance for your group and beds will be made up with organic bed linen whilst towels and bathrobes for the Jacuzzi are included. Private parking for 2 cars in front of the chalet. 5-9 mins by car to Chamonix town. We can offer additional services:
1st floor Chalet Eco Farm comprises of the top floor of a large 400 sqr.m farmhouse. The entrance hall opens to a large double aspect living room and kitchen with four ensuite bedrooms on this floor. There is comfortable seating around the open fireplace whilst the plasma screen TV has been ingeniously mounted on hinges allowing children to watch TV in a smaller, cosy area.. The chalet is very well equipped with a DVD, Music system, Wi-Fi and has under-floor heating throughout this floor. There is a handmade dining table offering seating for 12 guests and leather sofa’s for après ski lounging!. There is a hand crafted sofa in the Savoyarde style and other original period pieces of furniture which enhance the authenticity of the building. The hand-made kitchen continues this style with a beautiful marble clad work station, large stainless gas cooker and beautiful grey slate flooring. The chalet ambience exudes space, luxury and comfort!
A Large balcony runs along the North aspect of the building which gives easy access to the exterior Swim Spa. 2nd Floor

Miscellaneous Location: Les Houches - 6-9 minutes drive to Chamonix town. Chalet Eco Farm is just up the road from the Bellevue Ski Lift, only 3 mins walk away. The ground floor of the chalet is occupied by Huski owners.
Eco-Farm Studio Located on the ground floor of the farm, the Eco farm studio can be offered as a separate annex sleeping 2 guests or as a 6th bedroom to the main chalet. The studio is perfect for a couple, a compact, cosy retreat and beautifully decorated, it follows the same retro finish as the main chalet. The studio is 19m2 with a double sofa bed, kitchenette (with fridge, oven, microwave and gas top) and ensuite shower/wc tiled with gorgeous Italian limestone tiles. The solid oak floor is lovely to walk on bare feet! Available weekly: [ Sunday to Sunday] or weekends: [Wed to Sunday]. From £ 300 pp / per week self-catered
