This beautiful and original property offers very spacious accommodation for up to 14 guests. It enjoys an excellent position just 100m walk from the Bellevue ski lifts and in the heart of Les Houches village, minutes walk away are shops, several excellent restaurants, bus stops and the tourist office.

The chalet was absolutely beautiful, the owners were very friendly and helpful and with Etienne's help the children became proficient skiers within days. This property is a totally renovated 170 year old country farmhouse constructed from valley stone and ancient timbers. It has been lovingly converted by the owner into a charming, traditionally decorated ski lodge. The unique character of the building has been preserved and the use of natural materials and country decor reflects the spirit of a bygone age. The property enjoys 6 comfortable bedrooms, 2 have their own facilities (one with a fabulous C18th roll-top bath!) and there are 2 further bathrooms and 6 wc.  A gorgeous setting for a ski holiday!

We have recently enhanced this property with a Hot Tub!

More Information

The chalet is decorated in the traditional French style so lots of pretty gingham fabrics and decoration create a wonderful ski chalet ambience! Most bedrooms have ample cupboard space. Duvets, soft pillows and crisp bed linen included.

The heart of the house is an enormous and well equipped farmhouse kitchen with hand-built cupboards and a traditional terracotta stone floor. The old pine dressers, blue crockery and dried flowers draw inspiration from Country Living and it is the ideal place for cosy aprés ski hot chocolate (with or without brandy!) There is a large 'Aga' style range cooker (that can also be wood fired!) 5 gas burners, microwave, 2 fridges and electric oven offer aspiring chefs the best facilities in which to create delicious meals.

The chalet can sleep 14 as bedroom 2 has 3 single beds and bedroom 6 can take an extra folding bed (best for kids) or there is a sofa bed in the lounge.

Private parking in-front of the chalet for 2 cars. Ski storage shed with freezer and coded door lock.

It's an 8 min drive by car to Chamonix town.

Chalet Louisa is on three levels:

Ground floor	On the ground floor you enter the property into a hallway which leads to a enormous country style kitchen. There is a large French model 'AGA' range and free standing antique pine cupboards. There is a hand built dinning table with seating for 12 guests. A terracotta floor, dresser with pretty crockery and the original wood panelling and beams complete the look! Bedroom 6: One twin bedroom (with hand-built bunk beds 90x200) adjacent to; bathroom with bath, overhead shower and wc Laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer
1st floor	Bedroom 1: Master bedroom with fabulous SUPER King size brass bed (2mx2m)and an ensuite bathroom/wc which houses an original French roll-top bath dating from 1880! Bedroom 2: triple bedroom with 3 single French style metal beds 90x200 (2 showing in photo) Bedroom 3: twin bedroom with pine beds 90x200 1 bathroom with bath, overhead shower and wc additional separate wc A double aspect open-plan beamed living area (open to roof height) with exposed timbers, wooden floors and wood-burning stove in a stone fireplace create a stunning space with bags of character. Comfy sofa's, TV with use only DVD. A cosy library area with a sofa bed (can be curtained off) overlooks the original balcony and side garden.
2nd floor	Mezzanine level with velux offering fantastic mountain views (ideal for a kids play-area) which looks down onto the living room. Books and Games. Bedroom 4: 1 twin bedroom with 2m long twin beds Bedroom 5: small but very charming double bedroom (standard double bed 190x140) which has a large roof velux offering gorgeous views of Les Houches. 1 bathroom with shower and wc Additional separate wc.

100m to the ski pistes, in the centre of Les Houches Village. 6-9 minutes drive to Chamonix town.

The chalet annex at the rear of the property is occupied by the charming owners.
